Jaati Puja (Janmashtami) - Bayana only

 Jati Puja is done on the day of Janamashtmi in morning. (Note: below only includes the bayana that I take out, Puja is done by my MIL and SIL at our hometown. Will add Puja steps later)


Teethi:
Bhadrapada Krishnapaksha Ashtami

Puja Saamagri / Materials needed:
  1. Gehu (wheat) - soaked overnight
  2. Atta ka shira
  3. Roli Chawal & Moli
Puja Vidhi / Method:
  • Make atta ka shira in the morning
  • Now take this shira, add the soaked gehu, money, and do bayana (use roli chawal for Tikka and chhata as usual)
  • Give Bayana to your mother in law and take her blessings

Bachwaras Puja is done during the morning. Entire day, we eat Thanda and only eat things made of Bajra (no other grains) and drink only Buffalo milk. Holika Puja

Holika Puja is done for both Thandi Holika and Garam Holika (after Holika Dahan). Vrat or fasting is observed till Thandi Holika puja is done. Teethi: Falgun Shuklapaksha Purnima Puja Saamagri / Materials needed: Kachcha Suta - 2 taar ka, 2 pc Haldi Gaanth - 2 Supari (covered with Naal) - 1 Moong Chawal Wheat / Gehu (baali or normal) Gud/Jaggery Roli Chawal Water (with little milk in it) Churma Coconut - 1 Diya baati - 1 Agarbatti Til Change - coins for offering Puja Vidhi / Method: Thandi Holi: Female: Offer little water to thandi holi Tie kacha suta - 7 times around the holika, bring the rest back home Give Roli chhata and apply tikka Offer Gud & money Take Haldi, Gud, Gehu, Kachcha suta - show this to Holika ji and bring it back home Garam Holi: Male: Offer little water to holika Offer the Coconut Light Diya & Agarbatti Offer Naal, Moong Chawal, Til Bring little holy Ash home Make 7 pheris around the sacred fire Female: Offer little water to holika Give Roli chhata Offer Chu...

Aas Mata Ki Puja

Aas Mata Puja is done during the morning. Entire day, we only eat things made of Moong dal (no other grains). No Vrat or fasting is observed, just do not eat any other grains. Teethi : Falgun Shuklapaksha Saptami (It is usually done on any day between Shuklapaksha Pratipada to Shuklapaksha Ashtami) Puja Saamagri / Materials needed: 1. Moong dal ka Shira 2. Water in 2 Kalash or Glass 3. Wheat / Gehu 4. Kachcha Suta (Take 8 taar ka & make 8 gaanth or knots) 5. Roli Chawal 6. Moli Puja Vidhi / Method : 1. In a Pata, keep both the kalash of water 2. Make sathiya and chhabra on the kalash and tie Moli on its rim 3. Take gehu in hand and listen to Aas Mata ki kahani (pg 123) 4. Keep Shira near Kachcha suta, wear the dhaga for a min and remove it 5. Keep this gehu, dhaga and kalash water aside 6. Now take more gehu in hand and listen to Bindayak ji ki kahani (pg 60) 7.
